DEIMOS-1 is Spain’s first Earth-imaging satellite, launched in the summer of 2009, offering 22-metre-resolution imagery and unrivalled coverage with an imaging swath of up to 600 km.
With more than 2,600 images acquired to date, DEIMOS-1 has already proven its exceptional acquisition capacity, particularly over equatorial regions where cloud cover imposes tight constraints on optical systems.

DEIMOS-1 data are the latest valuable addition to Astrium GEO-Information Services’ optical satellite portfolio. Besides assuring data continuity after the shutdown of the SPOT 2 satellite, multispectral wide-swath DEIMOS-1 imagery will open up new prospects for a broad spectrum of applications including the environment, agriculture, forestry and maritime surveillance
